Diagnose connection errors

Use the complete connection message to distinguish timeouts, refusals, limits, bans, and client problems.

Connection failures look similar in a client window but require different fixes.

Timeout

The hostname may not resolve, the server may be unreachable, or a firewall may block the route. Try another active server from the server directory and test the web chat.

Connection refused

The selected hostname is reachable but is not accepting the chosen port. Use a port listed for that server.

Too many connections or connection limit exceeded

Too many clients may already be using your public IP address. Close stale connections, wait before reconnecting, and avoid rapid retry loops.

G-Line or banned message

Do not discard the text. Follow the URL or contact named in the exact message. A G-Line is different from a ban in one channel.

Immediate disconnects

Disable reconnect loops, flooding scripts, or malformed client automation. Confirm your client clock and network are stable.

When requesting help, include the exact message, server hostname, client name/version, time, and whether the web chat works.
